Ruby
School Psychologist & Counselor
Hi, I'm Ruby! I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master's Certificate of Advanced Study in School Psychology from Plattsburgh State University of New York. Additionally, I am a Nationally Certified School Psychologist in the United States. I am a first-generation American, and my family is from El Salvador. Currently, I am located in Germany.
Previously, I worked in New York for several years as a Bilingual School Psychologist. My assignment was in an elementary school building, where I worked with students in inclusion and self-contained classrooms. Moreover, I traveled throughout the district to provide support as required. My support included counseling, social skills groups, psychoeducational/social-emotional evaluations, behavior interventions, and special education services. I also facilitated numerous 504, IEP, and Student Support Team meetings. I have extensive experience working with students diagnosed with various conditions, such as anxiety, ADHD, autism, learning disabilities, Down Syndrome, speech and language impairments, and more. I have worked with students ranging in age from 4 to 21.
In addition to my work as a school psychologist, I have experience implementing an international leadership program for adolescents. I am deeply passionate about assisting students who come from culturally, linguistically, and neurodiverse backgrounds. My areas of specialization include psychoeducational evaluations, social-emotional assessments, bilingual education, counseling, and academic interventions.
I am fluent in English and Spanish.
