Joram
Math Coach/ Learning Support
Hi, I'm Joram, a Learning Support Specialist.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education (Special Needs Education) from Maseno University, Kenya, and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Osmania University, India. Additionally, I am a licensed and registered teacher in Kenya, with teaching experience dating back to 2010. I've also pursued supplementary courses such as Mental Health First Aid, First Aid, and a certificate in teaching and learning from Cambridge Oxford University.
My primary experience lies in working with pupils across both Elementary and middle school levels. This involves the full spectrum of tasks from designing to executing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and intervention initiatives, conducted both one-on-one and in small groups. I've provided in-class support, with a particular emphasis on mathematics and reading comprehension. Furthermore, I have extensive experience in addressing the needs of children with conditions such as ADHD and dyslexia, along with teaching mathematics and science subjects. Prior to my current role, I taught at a school for the hearing impaired.
In addition to my teaching background, I have a wealth of experience as a scout leader. I've successfully established and maintained active scout troops at all of my postings due to my enthusiasm for scouting. Moreover, I served as the boys’ boarding parent at my previous assignment.
I am a Kenyan and I currently live in Nairobi, Kenya. I speak English, Kiswahili, and Sign Language (at a conversational level).
