Hi, I'm Stefanie! After 20 years in the field of special education and experience teaching preschoolers to adults, there is nothing I love more than empowering another person to grow and shine. As a Seattle, WA native I love the outdoors, big mountains with evergreen trees, coffee and (of course,) inclusive education. I hold a Master’s in Special Education (Low Incidence/Developmental Disabilities) from the University of Washington.

My approach is holistic and student-centered, blending evidence-based behavior and academic strategies with a strong focus on social-emotional learning. My favorite part of this work is in developing individualized programs for success that build independence, confidence, and connection.

I’m also deeply invested in coaching teachers — supporting them with accommodations, modifications, equity in the classroom, and effective individualized education programming. Whether through IEP development, modified diplomas, or educator collaboration, my goal is always the same: to create communities where everyone belongs and has the opportunity to grow. I’ve started special education programs, taught and led teacher teams on inclusive culture and strategies in the U.S. and abroad — from public schools in the Seattle area to international schools across Tokyo, the Netherlands, and now Zagreb, Croatia.

In the Netherlands, I developed and implemented special education programs in both the middle and high school, and in Tokyo, I served as a Learning Support Coordinator, helping to shape inclusive practices across the school.

Currently at my third international school, my work continues to focus on building systems and structures that serve high school and transition age students with disabilities.
