WHAT TO EXPECT

Students will meet for 90 minutes each week at the Linden Office in Berlin Mitte.

The program follows a structured curriculum designed to support social and emotional learning, develop friendships, foster self-advocacy, and boost confidence.

  • Daily Skill-Building Sessions: Each week, students will explore key skills like making and maintaining friendships, solving problems, active listening, teamwork, holding meaningful conversations, and understanding and managing a range of emotions.
  • Learn Through Fun & Games! Using role-play, interactive games, theater activities, and plenty of physical movement, students will put their social skills into practice in a lively and supportive environment.
  • Make New Friends: Sessions are held in small groups of no more than five participants, ensuring everyone gets to build connections and feel included.

ABOUT THE FACILITATORRuthie holds two master’s degrees: one in Art & Design for Applied Learning from The Rhode Island School of Design and another in Embodied Dramaturgy/Devised Theatre from Arthaus Berlin. Since 2005, she has worked internationally, using theatre and applied arts practices for social change. Ruthie is passionate about facilitating workshops that help educators use interactive methods to support English, Math, STEM fluency, and higher-order learning skills.She has been an Artist in Residence and Guest Facilitator at institutions like Brown University, Antioch College, The Rhode Island School of Design, and The City University of New York. Her work focuses on helping educators and families support young people with ADHD, dyslexia, and processing differences. This expertise informs her curriculum development, professional training for educators, and camp programming.
