Sonya is an American Speech Language Pathologist and holds accreditation from the American Speech, Hearing, and Language Association (ASHA). She has both a bachelor’s and master’s in Speech Language Pathology from the University of Akron, in Akron, Ohio and has experience working with pediatrics (ages 3-18) for over 8 years. Sonya has experience working in public and private schools, private practice, and tele-therapy companies. Her interests include but are not limited to, functional speech and language goals to increase independence across environments, receptive and expressive language disorders, differentiated learning, compensatory strategies for optimal performance in schools, articulation and phonological disorders, language and global delays, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Sonya’s goals in providing therapy are to provide functional communication skills for children to have a voice to express their needs and wants, no matter what mode of communication.
