Hi, I'm Sonya. I’m an American speech language pathologist with accreditation from the American Speech, Hearing, and Language Association (ASHA). I have a bachelor’s and master’s degree in speech language pathology from the University of Akron, in Ohio, and have extensive experience working with children aged 3 to 18 in public and private schools, private practice, and at tele-therapy companies.
My interests include, but are not limited to functional speech and language development to increase independence across environments, receptive and expressive language disorders, differentiated learning, compensatory strategies for optimal performance in schools, articulation and phonological disorders, language and global delays, and autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
My goal in providing therapy is to help children gain functional communication skills so they can express their needs and wants, no matter the mode of communication.
My specialties include: language development, cognition, articulation and phonological disorders, differentiated instruction, and autism.
I’m from the United States and I speak English, Hindi, and Urdu.
