Bigs Connect Social Skills (ages 8-12)

Service Description

Bigs Connect is designed for children ages 8-12, providing a safe and engaging space for them to build friendships, explore social activities, and gain confidence. This 10-session after-school program focuses on teaching social and emotional skills through interactive arts, helping children navigate key developmental milestones in a fun and creative way. Each session centers on themes like making and maintaining friendships, self-advocacy, managing conflict, and embracing individuality. Bigs Connect is all about empowering young people to feel confident in who they are while fostering meaningful connections with peers. WHAT TO EXPECT Students will meet for 90 minutes each week at the Linden Office in Berlin Mitte. The program follows a structured curriculum designed to support social and emotional learning, develop friendships, foster self-advocacy, and boost confidence. Daily Skill-Building Sessions: Each week, students will explore key skills like making and maintaining friendships, solving problems, active listening, teamwork, holding meaningful conversations, and understanding and managing a range of emotions. Learning Through Fun! Using role-play, interactive games, theater activities, and plenty of physical movement, students will put their social skills into practice in a lively and supportive environment. Make New Friends: Sessions are held in small groups of no more than five participants, ensuring everyone gets to build connections and feel included. (Exploring Hobbies and Passions) Building Confidence Celebration TEENS CONNECT CLUB IN BERLIN: 10 weekly sessions Thursdays from 16:00-17:30 Starts November 21, 2024 Session 1: Nov 21 Session 2: Dec 5 Session 3: Dec 12 Session 4: Jan 9 Session 5: Jan 16 Session 6: Jan 23 Session 7: Jan 30 Session 8: Feb 6 Session 9: Feb 13 Session 10: Feb 20 PARENT COACHING 1:1 parent coaching sessions can be scheduled at during or after camp for an additional fee.
