At Linden we believe International Black History Month is for everyone, everywhere, and all year round!
Black History Month gives us the opportunity to celebrate and recognize the contribution and achievements of people with African heritage around the world. It's also an opportunity to learn more about the effects of racism and how to challenge negative stereotypes.
Last year we saw the world come together to protest systemic racism and violence against Black people through the Black Lives Matter movement. We saw young people gather in thousands here in Germany and around the world. They marched for justice, for change and an end to racism. Some students at international schools started social media campaigns, petitions, and various initiatives highlighting their experiences and ideas on what we can all do to dismantle racism. We still have work to do!
