Kathryn
Occupational Therapist
Hi there! My name is Kat, and I am an occupational therapist (OT). I am a Texas native currently living in Germany since 2019. After living all over the United States, I realized I wanted to experience a different culture and learn a new language, and this led me to Germany.
I hold the following degrees: Clinical Doctorate (OTD) from University of Alabama (UAB) at Birmingham, Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from Texas Woman’s University, and Bachelor’s degree in Business from Texas Tech University. I also completed the Low Vision Rehabilitation Graduate Certification from UAB in 2019 focusing on assessments and interventions related to vision changes from eye disease or neurological causes.
I have over a decade's worth of experience as an OT working in various settings, such as inpatient rehabilitation facilities and outpatient facilities. My experience ranges from working with adults recovering from Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) and Spinal Cord Injuries (SCI), to working with children experiencing developmental delays related to fine or gross motor skills, ADHD, and Autism.
Since living in Germany, my practice has been pediatric focused. Through this work, I fell in love with Montessori and participated in a training program for children in London and Munich. I am a mother myself, so my passion lies in meeting the child where they are, following their lead, and supporting them to improve their autonomy and participation within daily occupations.
I’m from the United States, and I speak English and conversational German (B1).
