Eric
Learning Support Specialist
Hi, I'm Eric Hayes! I hold a Bachelor of Arts in History and Special Education from Angelo State University and a Master of Science in Multi-/Interdisciplinary Studies from SUNY-Buffalo. I am certified to teach Math (Grades 6-9) and History (Grades 6-12).
Over the last 16 years as an educator, I have supported diverse learners by developing tailored educational strategies and accommodations. I've worked in international education environments in Romania, Lithuania, and Brazil, advocating for inclusive educational practices and fostering parent-school collaboration.
As a Learning Support Specialist, I am dedicated to empowering neurodivergent students by enhancing their self-advocacy skills and executive functions. My focus is on alleviating math anxiety and strengthening areas where students feel less confident, employing a personalized, strengths-based approach to boost their confidence and academic self-esteem.
I have shared my insights at regional conferences and in-school workshops, promoting strategies for building inclusive classrooms and amplifying student voices.
Originally from the USA, I speak English, Brazilian Portuguese, and some Spanish.
