PSYCHOLOGICAL PSYCHOTHERAPIST / SYSTEMIC FAMILY THERAPIST
Curt is a licensed psychological psychotherapist and systemic family therapist with a B.A in history from Amherst College and a diploma in psychology from the Freie Universität Berlin. He took his training in family therapy at the Berliner Institut für Familientherapie and has
more than thirty-five years of experience with children, adolescents and their families in psychotherapy, counselling, crisis intervention and case management regarding behavioural and family related issues, learning disabilities, mental health and mental illness. For the past four years he was department chairman of psychotherapy and long-term intensive therapy at the Median Kinder- und Jugendklinik in Beelitz-Heilstätten, Germany. There he supervised multi-professional teams and worked directly with adolescents, treating a wide spectrum of issues including eating disorders, social phobia, emotional disorders, school refusal, self-harm, suicidality, gaming and media addiction.
Curt has decades of experience in Germany working in and networking with social, psychiatric and health agencies and institutions. He is highly committed to assisting children, adolescents and their families in discovering their own resources and potential as well as the potential of their immediate and extended social environments. With an eclectic approach to counselling and therapy primarily based on systemic methods with relevant aspects of cognitive behavioural therapy and depth psychology, he specialises in family therapy, organizational development, anxiety, self-harm and suicidality, crisis support, stress and depression.
