Abby is a licensed school psychologist in Florida. She works with students from K-12. Abby received her Masters of Science degree with a specialization in School Psychology in 2014, and her Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies, Specialist Degree in 2016 from Capella University. In Berlin Germany, Abby worked for three years as a member of the Student Support Service team at Berlin Brandenburg International School. There she provided one-on-one learning/behavior support. Upon returning to the United States in June of 2015, Abby worked as a school psychologist for Lake County Public Schools in Central Florida. In 2017, Abby transferred to neighboring Seminole County. Abby has extensive experience in psychoeducational evaluations (cognitive, academic, social/emotional, behavior and Autism). Abby has started many initiatives that focus on Social Emotional Learning (SEL). In 2019, she created a Mindful Moment Room at her elementary school, which allowed students the ability to learn and apply self-regulating strategies for positive behavior control. By the end of the school year, detentions and behavior referrals had decreased by 30 percent. Abby also runs several SEL groups for Elementary and Middle School students, and collaborates with teachers to conduct Functional Behavior Assessments and create Behavior Intervention Plans. Abby consults on cases for the Seminole county Behavior Support Team, and is a member of the Crisis Team. She holds additional certifications in Youth Mental Health First Aid, and Psychological First Aid.
